Refrigerators today are designed to roll out from the wall
Pull the refrigerator out from wall and vacuum the coils on the back
and also the bottom area where the condenser is found.
If the floor area is a mess give it a quick scrub, Remove front vent cover,
remove catch basin, clean, and replace.
Vacuum front area also.
Dusty or dirty coils use about 25 percent more energy to maintain temperature.
The cleaner these areas are kept the more efficient a
refrigerator will run, using less energy.
Switch refrigerator to power miser setting
Use a Refrigerator-Freezer Thermometer
Set refrigerator temperature to 36-39F (2-3C)
Set freezer to 0-5 F (-18 to-15C)
Keep refrigerator/freezer full (water)
Turn off water while shaving and brushing teeth
Clothes Dryer: clean lint screen with every load of clothes.
Once a month clear the lint from the outside dryer vent.

A Digital Thermostat will keep the area temperature balanced,
reducing the operation time of running the Furnace.

Replace incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs,
Fluorescent bulbs use 1/4 of the energy that incandescent bulbs require,
and fluorescent bulbs last 5x longer.
LED lighting uses up to 90 percent less energy than incandescent bulbs to
produce the same amount of light.

Save Energy by using a door draft dodger on doors or windows,

VCRs, TV's, kitchen appliances, computers and stereos continue
to draw power even when switched off.
A large percentage of the electricity used to power these home electronics is wasted,
by sending power to these products even when turned off.
By adding a surge suppressor power strip and switching them to “off”
when not in use will save alot of energy every month.
If your VCR clock keeps blicking 12:00 when the power is restored,
use the red-neck method to fix it,
(place some black electrical tape over the light that is flashing 12:00)
I suggest adding a surge suppressor to every Electric product you own!
There are single plug-in units and multiple plug-in units on the market for sale.
Use them on every thing, Washer, Refrigerator, Microwave, Freezer, Computer, ect..
It only takes one power surge, electric spike from the power company
to cause a Big boost to the local economy.
Don't let a little power spike cause you to replace your appliances!
JOIN the effort to change the way Energy is used in the Home!
